Description

Il rifugio Cesare Benigni si trova nel Parco delle Orobie Bergamasche (www.parcorobie.it) ed è sito all’inizio di un piccolo altopiano che partendo dal lago Piazzotti si protende tra la val Salmurano e la val Tronella, proprio sul confine tra le province di Bergamo e Sondrio. Tra rocce, pratini, pozze d’acqua e stambecchi si gode di una vista grandiosa che spazia dalle vette del gruppo Masino-Bregaglia, al Disgrazia, alla Valmalenco, fino ad abbracciare tutte le Orobie e raggiungere la pianura.

Come arrivare

E’ posto tappa del sentiero 101 delle Orobie Occidentali e del Sentiero Italia; è raggiungibile in 2-3 ore da diversi punti di accesso sia in alta val Brembana che dalla val Gerola e, impiegando un po’ più di tempo, anche dalla Valsassina e dal passo di San Marco; per questo è meta ideale per escursioni di diverso tipo: la semplice gita in giornata, il pernottamento in rifugio, il giro ad anello di uno o più giorni o la traversata.
